“why, why, why delilah….” is a line from a classic song “Delilah.” And these were the words i uttered when my sister told me that her laptop was broken. It’s a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, a gift from her stepsister. She brought it here in the philippines when she left new york a few months ago, so she can still stay in touch with her friends through myspace and chatting. One day, my sister told me to bring her laptop to her school because they have a project to make. When she got home, she told me,” kuya, the laptop was broken.” She never told me what happened. I checked it and noticed that the operating system were corrupted. I told her that i can fix it using dell’s recovery cd. But the problem was she lost it inside her room a year ago. So i went to my friend’s computer shop hoping to get it fix. But it was’nt a goodnews because we don’t have the cd to recover the laptop drivers like video, audio, etc. The only thing my friend did was to reinstall it’s operating system. I went home and told my sister that we can’t fix it. She called our mom whose in new york and ask her to purchase a new recovery cd for her laptop. But our mom told her that it will take months when she orders it. So i did’nt took chances, i went to some shop near our place to ask how or where i can i get it fix. Someone told me that i can download the laptop software drivers on the internet. I’ve searched the web looking for answers to it. Finally i found the solution how i can fix it for good. Early morning, i went to my sister’s room to get the laptop and fix it but the worst thing happens. She told me the AC adapter does’nt work. She plugged it last night and then forgot to unplug it before she sleep.I was stunned of what she said. I told her how can i fix it now with an empty battery and a broken AC adapter. I brought the laptop and went to the shop again to ask help from a computer technician. The technician used another adapter to test it. Then he said that maybe the AC adapter components were burned affecting the motherboard power source to collapse. Once again i failed to fix it and went back home. Then i remember what my cousin told me before that “only DELL can fix DELL!” So my last resort is to send it back to my mom in new york to get it fix.
